As always sailing into Lisbon down the Targus River is an impressive sight as you can see from my pictures. First, you pass under the Ponte 25 de Abril Bridge which roars like a jet engine from the road traffic as you pass under it. Alongside it high on the riverbank, is the Cristo Rei, or Christ the King Statue built in the 1950s and inspired by the Christ the Redeemer in Rio is slightly bigger than the one in Rio.

Glinting in the morning sunshine was the dome of the Church of Engracia which took almost 400 years to build and has become famous as an endless construction project. The other impressive building is Sao Vincente de Fara Church and Monestry.

I opted for a Tuk Tuk tour which was a first and with the potholes, and cobblestones on the Lisbon roads certainly was a test for all the metal plates and screws in my body. It did give us a chance to soak in the bustling street and cafe atmosphere. We saw the famous trolley buses and there was a stop for a local cheese and wine tasting. I also spotted the "new" imitation old cars used for tours - maybe next time. Finally I photographed another of the many wall paintings that have sprung up all over the city.

Well, that's the end of my Adriatic cruise and although the weather could have been better it was enjoyable and some new destinations seen. Apart from the excursions the food has been exceptional and I will have to do a serious weight reduction program when I get home. I have had some good company and attended some good lectures and shows. I joined the watercolor classes and that proved to be a really rewarding thing to do and has given me a new hobby to practice on future cruises and at home. Thanks to everyone for the comments that make writing this travel blog well worthwhile.
